What is success? If I were to boil it down to just a few things, it would be the ability to overcome hardship. Becoming a more resilient and compassionate person. And to turn life’s lessons into tools for helping others realize their potential to create a better life.
My history…
I come from a large family and very large extended family. This taught me a lot about people, personalities, and how to negotiate, which came in handy when working as a Recruiter, Employment Placement Specialist, Small Group Leader, and Board President, among other roles.
At 4 it was discovered that I had a learning disability that made it exhausting and hard to read. Not being “normal” as a kid affected my confidence deeply. I found out I was hyper. Discovered I was independent by nature. I was outspoken. And a thinker, who felt things deeply. And above all, someone who loves people. I love to be in roles that allow me to be a trainer, leader, and cheerleader.
I was the go-to girl for solving problems, the friend who had your back AND I was very lonely. In my late 30’s, I crashed into my buried feelings and wasn’t sure what to do with them. I felt trapped in my role as a people pleaser, unlovable, silenced, and an outsider who had to make do with the hand she was dealt. The problems began to stack up with the loss of a loved one, a hurtful romantic relationship, isolation during COVID, and a toxic work environment.
It was at the bottom that I reached out for the support I had been missing. This ended up being the best decision of my life! Working with a therapist and life coach helped me discover that shame had caused me to lose my ability to ask for what I wanted out of life, and I had lost the ability to say “no” to what I didn’t want. I also discovered that I didn’t have the ability to ask for help.
It is often said, “Knowing is half the battle”, no truer words have been said when it comes to renewal and reinvention.
Finding my true voice again was the key to unlocking the future I had wanted! The next step in being my most authentic self was a search for the tools that would allow me to use my passion for connecting others to self-discovery, personal growth, and healing.
In April 2022 I began my journey from simply a Recruiter and added Life Coach to my tool bag. I have watched as my coaching has facilitated a meaningful difference for those I work with. They too have learned how to ask for what they want, turn up the volume on their inner desires, and find a happier balance in life.
