
Stress and its effects on the body are staggering! One tool that can help you deal with stress in life and the workplace is calming breathing. There are many techniques, but here is one that I formed using the approaches I found most helpful.
*Take a 4-second-long breath through your nose, immediately followed by 1 quick fast breath through your nose.
*Breath out from your mouth for 4 long seconds (you should be able to hear yourself breathing out Haaaaaaah)
*Hold for 4 seconds without breathing in.
*Repeat all steps in order at least one time.
Breathing resets your brain and can help you think more clearly afterword. Slowing down can take 30 seconds to 2 minutes of time but will give you so much more than the time invested.
